Jean Paul Brice Affana Affana is a young green entrepreneur from Cameroon who decided to dedicate his time, energy and resources to issues affecting young people in his country and around the world. In order to share his vision for a better world with others, he participated toseveral global contests and has won many of them like the World Bank Essay Competition in 2009 on climate change, the Scenarios from Africa on HIV/AIDS in 2005 and 2008, the Peace and Co-operation School Award in 2010, etc. Trained as Youth and Action Instructor and skilled in sociology, social development, social entrepreneurship and climate change, Jean Paul is the Coordinator of Vital Actions for Sustainable Development (AVD), a youth green NGO he co-founded in 2008 which aims to educate people on eco-citizenship, climate change and sustainable development with children and youth participation. In 2010, Jean Paul was elected as Focal Point of youth organizations at the UNFCCC during the COP16 in Cancún. He is actively involved with the Major Group for Children and Youth at the UNCSD and is the Global Coordinator of the Rio+20 Global Youth Music Contest. Jean Paul serves as Network and Partnership Officer of the African Youth Initiative on Climate Change from 2012 to 2014. A young professional committed to make happens the change he wants to see in the world.
